Bio
We are A Billion Ernies, a hardcore/ska indie band from Hemet, CA. We've been together now for 8 years, and though the road has had all sorts of twists & turns, we wouldn't have it any other way. We live to tour the country and meet amazing people from all over. Our influences include bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, Refused, RX Bandits, Five Iron Frenzy, Blindside & Cursive. When it comes to our music, we take what has influenced us musically, combine it with our life experience & beliefs and hope it turns out to be something that we can share with everybody.
About
A Billion Ernies is a Hardcore/Ska/Indie band from Hemet, CA. We formed in 2001 while our founding members were still in high school and we have been evolving ever since. Our sound is one of a kind, and our influences include many bands, such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Refused, RX Bandits, Five Iron Frenzy, Blindside and Cursive. Most fans would say that our music is unique in that you can skank around to it one minute and slam dance with it the next. Over the years we have recorded three full length albums, Please Do Not Reveal The Ending (2002), Stop Calling Us Ska (2005), and Dumpster Generation (2009). Our last album was released on Community Records.org. We are so excited to have teamed up with such an awesome label that is devoted to fans, and positivity. Our live shows are our strongest point as a band, and we truly feel that our home is on the road. We love being with and playing for our fans; they are some of the most die hard, kind and amazing people we have ever met, and they are a big reason that we continue to do what we do. The most important part of A Billion Ernies is our message. We do not sing about last night's party, summer flings, or one night stands. Our lyrics’ meanings are not purposefully elusive in an attempt at being artistic. We sing about God and the misconceptions surrounding Him. We sing about being stuck in a world that does not understand you, and about judgmental self-centered people, religious or not, that run around pretending like they are better than everyone else. In short, we just want everyone to treat people as they would like to be treated, and we want every listener to be able to hear and understand this in our lyrics
