About

: AaaPha is mostly Arthur Taylor, an electronic musician, producer and fretless bass guitar player. He was born in Bradford-on-Avon (Wiltshire, England) in November 1973 and has been making vaguely musical noises ever since; learning piano at the age of five, violin at eight and then forgetting both utterly at fifteen after getting to grips with the "intricacies" of the bass guitar.

: After leaving (or being thrown out of) several bands too many, quitting music entirely for a few years and then being introduced to the likes of Squarepusher, Orbital and Aphex Twin by a chap named Gav Saunders, he started messing about with computers, synths and the like. He was joined in this venture by Gav himself, (with whom he recorded a demo of insanely poor quality downtempo Octamed grooves in 1996), and then by fellow musician turned tech-head Jeremy Rosier who introduced him to MIDI and the piano-roll in 1997.

: Pesky was formed with Gavin not long after and for three years lots of music happened, lots of gigs were played and demos recorded; Jer collaborated and played guitar, lots of stuff got learned, lots of installations of Windows got trashed.

: AaaPha occurred when Arthur moved to America by accident in 2000, and found he was slightly impeded by this when it came to working with the rest of the Pesky collective back in the UK and had to bow out. So he decided to go it alone and give the American South-West a taste of the English West-Country's electrical cacophony.

: Arthur moved back to the UK in 2004, and has since completed work on two new recordings, "Intentional Blank Page" (2005) and "9 Simple Electronic Circuits" (2006). He also sometimes releases experimental Drill n' Bass under the name Ar-Fvur and trancy, dancy stuff as Mister Clippy.
