“A Joyful Noise - or nine - will be heard this weekend when the inaugural Joyful Weekend of Heavenly Music takes place at the Crowne Plaza Reading in Wyomissing. The event is sponsored by the Reading Berks Council of Churches and will feature nine bands with Christian roots. "The music isn't all praise music," said Claire Young, director of operations for the RBCC. "But they are all performers of faith." Yvonne Hartman performs at 3:25 p.m. She is a singer/songwriter who eventually learned to play guitar so she could accompany herself. Hartman has been performing since 2006 and refers to herself as a "musicianary," as she performs for the Lord. She will be joined by Gary Yerger on bass, Dave Ruth on lead guitar, Andy Bond on drums and Esther Johnson on background vocals.”
“The Yvonne Hartman Band will perform at the Penn Street Market in Reading for the first time Friday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Yvonne has been performing and writing songs since 2006. She is recording her fourth CD, to be released sometime this fall. Yvonne is joined by Gary Yerger on bass, Dave Ruth on lead guitar, and Andy Bond on drums. Yvonne has also played under the band name B9 Fate. Get the season's freshest produce from farmer vendors, delicious baked goods and breads, yummy yogurt and cheese, and herbs for your cooking pleasure. The Penn Street Market is in the 800 block of Penn Street in Reading, a breezy, shady bricked plaza that is an oasis in the city this summer. The market runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Fridays. Chapman’s Deli will sell lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.”
“OLEY, Pa. — Local musician Yvonne Hartman will perform with her contemporary Christian band, B9 Fate, in a concert to benefit farmland preservation on June 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the New Life Bible Fellowship Church, Oley, Pa., along with special guest Steve Myers. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Wernersville, Pa.,-based Adopt An Acre Inc. in its continued efforts to preserve agricultural land. Adopt An Acre Inc. President Craig Dirks thanked the Hartmans for lending their talents to raising funds for farmland preservation. Farmland preservation has been an important cause for the entire Hartman family for decades. Yvonne’s father-in-law, Ed Hartman, now deceased, devoted many years to serving on the Berks Agricultural Land Preservation Board and serving as president of the Berks Farm Bureau. A son, Chris Hartman, serves on the board of Adopt An Acre Inc. and the Berks County Conservancy.”
“Even though Hartman is not a farmer herself, she easily relates to their struggle because her husband is a farmer who works on their farms, Scattered Acres, with his brothers. That is the reason Hartman agreed to do the benefit concert when she was approached by co-worker and President of Adopt an Acre Inc, Craig Dirks to do the concert. In addition to realizing the importance of saving farms, Hartman would like the concertgoers to learn more about Adopt an Acre Inc. “I would like people to get a sense for what Adopt an Acre does and how farming is important to the community; not only to this community, but all communities in the world. “If we continue to let farms die out, I don’t know where we are going to get our food. Obviously we don’t make enough food in the world to feed the world now because there are people starving all over the world,” Hartman said. Adopt an Acre Inc. is thrilled about the concert and the awareness it will bring.”

What's in the name: "B9" (Benign) - No. 1 definition on www.dictionary.com is "gracious." "Fate" is something that happens to you that you have no control over. Just like God's gift to us is His Son, Jesus Christ. It is a gracious gift, given to us freely. All you have to do is accept it. How we got started: Yvonne started singing in church to accompaniment CDs. She picked up the guitar so that she could accompany herself. With a growing passion for singing, she started singing at coffee houses and cafés in 2006 and shortly after started writing her own music.
