The Artis is a rapper/producer from Houston, Texas who happened to slide in a new single during last weeks down period. ”Scottie Pippen,” is a good song dropped at the perfect time. The single does not carry the weight of the Trayvon Martin case that has captivate the country, and not empty as are many of the “Versace” retreads. The Artis hypothetical is, “if I walked on water, could I make it past 33.” Jesus death and resurrection occurred at the age of 33 which happens to be the jersey number of Scottie Pippen, hall of fame sidekick to Michael Jordan. The hook is clever, the bars are clever, and The Artis seems to tied the entire selection together, and by the end the listener could possibly infer a juxtaposition with God, from the upcoming rapper.
