Bio
Scotty and the Reverbs, according to many music critics, helped define the "Poison Ivy Tea" sound. Incidentally, their first drummer, Sir Leroy McPopkins, pioneered a controversial nose-hair-transplant procedure in the late Seventies before falling to his death outside of Bangor, Maine.
About
The music of Scotty and the Reverbs was originally inspired by the Kalamazoo funk scene of 1974. For years Scotty, Robert, Lou and Jed honed their best bass lines and primal vocals. Despite being a 4 piece, all bass band, they failed to garner an early following. But then in 1996 they started playing a wide variety of instruments and everything changed. Their new sound could best be described as having a "dance/club" like groove. Scotty and the Reverbs had accomplished what few could: layer the classical music phrases of “dance” without killing the harmonies and dynamics of “groove”. Synthesizers and drum samples were used a lot of times to create "club music" like atmosphere. However you can still feel "organic side" in the bass lines.
When these four perform live, people are literally grooved out of their clothes. It is epic beyond compare. The concept of the live shows tended to come from improvisation (communication and inspiration) because of Lou's heavy metal background. Sometimes, they band will play their tunes totally different from the original version and some flavor will be added to make the live performance (presence) interesting.
Nothing stands in the way of Scotty and The Reverbs as they tour the world bringing what many are calling “the best music ever created” to the masses. Check out the sick tunes and watch the stunning videos. Scotty and The Reverbs will bring the world to its collective knees, just begging for the groove.
