On Friday 24th August, Manchester's Paris Angels are getting back together for a special concert at the Ruby Lounge, Northern Quarter, Manchester. Paris Angels were a seven piece band associated with the music scene of 1989 -1991 whose music fused indie guitars with electronic dance music. The band were regulars of the Boardwalk and Haçienda in Manchester and were heavily influenced by House Music and eclectic psychedelic sounds. Original band members were: Rikki Turner, Jayne Turner, Steven Tajti, Scott Carey, Mark Atherton, Paul 'Wags' Wagstaff and Simon Worrall. Tragically, original drummer, Simon Worrall died on November 1, 2011. Devastated by this news, the band got together with a view to raising money for Simon's funeral. Long time friend of the band, Phil Beckett (Jeep, 2 For Joy) was asked to step in for Simon. So on Friday 24th August, Paris Angels will play one gig - The Simon Worrall Memorial Evening - all proceeds from which will go to pay for Simon's headstone.
