OSIRUS® is an alt-rock band from Houston, TX whose sound runs the gamut from alternative-indie to edgy acoustic rock.
OSIRUS® released their latest CD entitled Awaken December 10, 2008. Awaken features eight songs. OSIRUS released their first CD Robert & Family on March 5, 2003 which also features eight songs. Both CDs contain songs that display an array of styles that creates an original sound for OSIRUS that is all their own.

About
Formed originally a few years ago as a harder-edge sounding band, OSIRUS has since undergone a number of transformations. Founding member John Matranga (drums) and long time member Ernest Garcia (guitars) decided to take more of an alt-rock direction with the band, which is where it's at now.
After several years of regional success & local recognition with earlier lineups, Kimberly Jason (voice/acoustic guitar/keys) formally embraced the role as the band's lead vocalist in the summer of '08 and Al Alvarez (bass), after serving as the band's fill-in bassist for several months, joined the band officially in July of '09. As planned by John and Ernest the bands new line-up sound IS more adult alt-rock/indie-rock, with even more intensity and more emotional involving songs. And all this done without losing none of the energetic and full on rock sound the band has always had!
OSIRUS is currently writing and adding more songs and preparing a new set list. The goal is to update and add 20 new original songs, some of which they are already performing at their latest shows. Also there's plans to go back into the studio late '09 to record all the new material. The plans are to release a 6 song EP first, then a full CD afterwards. In addition to booking more shows in the Houston area, they're also preparing to take the show on the road statewide.
Recognized as one of Houston's most up and comming bands, OSIRUS is poised to take everything up a notch to the next level. What more can you say...OSIRUS ROCKS!
