“MilitantxMindz is a collective of talented artists, poets and freedom fighters, who are based in the Oklahoma City and Moore area. They have recently performed several benefit shows that directly aid the Moore Relief, such as the Paseo Arts Festival and The Nappy Roots Benefit Show. Their latest album "Riot" has recently been in the Oklahoma Gazette and they have recently been interviewed on Spy FM a local Oklahoma radio station. May 20th 2013 changed a lot of people's lives that day in Oklahoma, leaving some feeling hopelessness and despair. In particular, the founders of the group "MilitantxMindz" Derek Cantu and Miguel Medina were directly affected by the devastating power of this tornado. Leaving their home nearly minutes before the twister struck their home, left with only the clothes on their backs and the music in their laptop. Miguel stated "made you feel helpless, made you want to give up"..."music was the last thing on my mind..." He also stated "it brought us closer together”
