Makeda Taylor was born in Birmingham UK, to Jamaican parents and is now a Canadian living in Toronto. Having fostered her soulful musical talents from childhood in a gospel setting, she is a seasoned Singer-Songwriter with over thirty years of performance experience. Makeda regards her music to be a melting pot of musical genres. Her performance instruments of choice are Piano and Guitar. Although music is her life passion, Makeda is a dedicated Registered Nurse and a social justice activist....

Being an Artist has many challenges. Fighting to stay creatively focused. Trying to ward off petty insecurities and the internalized critic. I dream big but I also make realistic and attainable goals.
