It's as if he's a 40 year-old lovechild of a Mississippi Delta blues man and Loretta Lynn..." (Garland Harwood). In Jonah's own words, "everything that has happened, everything that is happening, everything that might happen, and everyone I've ever met, or heard of, heard, seen, spoken to, etc" are his inspiration. The pleasure of Tolchin's sound is from his ability to create music skillfully and gratefully; he draws from every angle and experience imaginable. http://www.jonahtolchin.com/ FRANK FAIRFIELD: Frank Fairfield, also a Newport Folk Festival alum, is a native of Fresno, California, who now resides in Los Angeles. Frank's unique take on the traditional murder ballad, "Duncan and Brady" was Third Man Records' first Blue Series release of 2014. TMR calls Frank's performance, "A dark and delirious slice of new American Primitive by the modern master of the form...a genius on the fiddle, guitar, and banjo who possesses a broken and soulful voice which perfectly reflects the tragedy and damnation of the subject matter" http://frankfairfield.bandcamp.com/ BILL SCORZARI: Some four years ago, New York native, Bill Scorzari, stumbled upon a Paste recording of Justin Townes Earle's "Mama's Eyes." He describes the experience as profound, life-altering and the very moment upon which his journey into Americana, folk, roots and bluegrass songwriting became inevitable. His debut album "Just the Same," was released in May of 2014. "Scorzari plays roots/blues/folk music that sounds as old as the hills themselves...His voice fits around the music like a glove and provides shades of melancholy, adversity and hope." http://www.billscorzari.com/Tickets Save
