“The upbeat “Letters of My Youth” picks up the pace with whispered vocals and fast guitar rhythms. Having been compared to Paul Simon, it’s on tracks like this that showcase Coulson and GGL’s radio friendly music best. In fact, it comes as no surprise that this track is currently in the top 50 of FMQB’s A/C Top 200 radio charts. With a distinct grove, “Letters of My Youth” showcases the band’s staying power.
Throughout Gatsby’s Green Light Ken Coulson and Gatsby’s Green Light showcase their expertise. A prolific songwriter and multi instrumentalist who composes songs on guitar, banjo, ukulele, and mandolin, Coulson impresses. While certain tracks beg reference to familiar bands like Counting Crows and Dave Matthews Band, Ken Coulson and Gatsby’s Green Light’s debut release is an adequate portrayal of what’s to come.”

“Ken Coulson and Gatsby’s Green Light debut is eclectically beautiful and overall very enjoyable. So few artists are able to integrate world music, Latin, and other elements into their compositions and avoid the pretension that often can accompany the effort. Coulson seems completely comfortable within the many genres and influences contained on the record.”
“American singer-songwriter, Ken Coulson, is a multi-instrumentalist with a catchy, ambient pop sound and loads of guitar melodies with world rhythms borrowed from Latin and flamenco influences. Gatsby’s Green Light encompasses Ken’s uncanny ability to create folkloric gems and poetic pieces of joy for listeners of all ages. Ken Coulson’s new release shimmers with guitar melodies, folksy vocals, and engaging instrumentation that explores roots, folk, jazz, Latin, island, and pop genres with ease. Ken’s mastery of creating catchy songs and vivid instrumentation are remarkable. The ten songs run about forty-minutes in length and showcase Ken’s vocal and guitar ranges very adequately. Fans of Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, Sister Hazel, and acoustic songs by Toad The Wet Sprocket will find Ken Coulson to be an invaluable addition to any musical library.
