Box 984 North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 Directions to the center: We are conveniently located near Wilkes Regional Medical Center in West Park Medical Park in the 1915 building, Suite 200. To access our entrance, you must drive behind the building using the road between the Express Y & the Coffee Tavern. You will need to drive behind the building to the far end of the building opposite the Express Y. Our entrance is located on the end of the building. You will see a covered walkway & black fence surrounding our Therapeutic Garden. Hours of Operation The center is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. We are closed for the following holidays: New Year’s Day July 4th Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Eve Christmas Day In the event that a Holiday falls on the weekend, the Executive Director will determine whether to close the center on the preceding Friday or following Monday. The determined day will be posted in advance for participant, caregivers, and employees.

  I play two slots on Sat, between 12:30 to1:30.pm, This should be fun. I will sing you my own songs. ON Sun I've made a band -currently called Community Band-it's almost developed. I am not sure who all will play in that yet, but I know it will be wonderful gospel/Christian contemp/ music to help end the event! :) It currently involves Irv Blackburn, Anita Taylor, Rusty McClean, Jr, Matt Myers, Josh Brown, Debbie Bailey, and me, Doreen Pinkerton! Nick Taylor will sing How He Loves with us, and I hope David Gambill will join us still, and another guitarist, but it is a task to get everyone away from work. We are working it out! We changed our practice to Sunday nights at 7 pm, at Refuge Church in Wilkesboro now, till the event. so come on out, cause after our 6 practices and a planning meeting, we will need an audience to sing with us! I am adding two of my songs to this too,, along with other artists songs! 30 minute slots lets you do 6-7 songs I discovered! Come on out both days! The Sun event is 12:40-1:10, so go to the early service if you can that day, and come on out! :) ! :)

  Our newcommunity Band- One Hope - plays 12:40-1:10pm, 7 songs. Rusty McClean (drums), Jr, Josh Brown (base), Matt Myers (electric), Anita Taylor (vocals, keys), Deb Bailey (vocals), Amy Hornbeck (violin), Irvin Blackburn (acoustic, vocals), Doreen Pinkerton (acoustic, vocals, keys), and thanks to Andy Absher for always helping me with sound, although he has to miss the gig itself this time. We made it for this event! I am so excited everyone wanted to play. We didn't all know each other, and not everyone plays same style, so it was a challenge, but rewarding. We do half my songs,, and half other famous artists this time, so you can sing along with us, till you know mine and sing em! lol. It is all contemp praise and worship for the family, Americana style,for a Sunday event! :) So come on out after church in your church attire, and bring some lawn chairs, and get some chicken. Hey, we are home of Tyson- thanks, to the Lovette family! Come on Pete, come on out! :) Come on Out, Lisa Sloop and family! Come on out on Sat too! I play twice between 12:30-1:30, ten min slots on spotlite stage, doin 4-5 songs, however many I can fit in 2 ten min slots! lol. Larry, hope you can do that mandolin we practiced. GLad Amy can do some violin on one too! God is so good to us. Yes, America- the land of the free and the brave! :) How appropriate to do Americana music! ChickenFest-Free Americana music festival set for May 25-25 ChickenFest will offer an array of acoustic music during the festival’s inaugural weekend on May 26 and May 27. And the event is free to the public. The festival will be hosted by The Record and Tyson Foods is the major sponsor for the event, designed to perpetuate MerleFest organizers’ efforts to designate Wilkes County as the Home of Americana Music, and to recognize the importance of the poultry industry in Wilkes. ChickenFest will be held at The Record Park at the corner of 4th and E streets in North Wilkesboro. This is the site of the former offices of The Record and Thursday Printing (one block above Benton Hall) which were destroyed by a March 2004 fire. “This will be a great community event,” said Record Publisher and co-event organizer Ken Welborn. “We don’t know how many people will attend, but there is a lot of interest in the festival,” said Record Editor Jerry Lankford, who is co-organizing the event with Welborn. Directions to The Record Park and ChickenFest are: North from Boone - 421 South to Wilkesboro, turn left onto 421 Business at stoplight and follow D Street to 4th Street, turn left to E Street From Winston-Salem or I-77 - Follow 421 North to NC 115 North Wilkesboro exit. Turn right and follow Highway 115 approximately three miles to highway 268. Turn left and go two blocks to 4th Street and turn right, three blocks to E Street From Charlotte - I-77 North to 421 North. Follow 421 North to Highway 115, exit right and then follow the above directions. From Lenoir or Taylorsville - Come into Wilkesboro on highway 16/18. Exit right onto Highway 421 towards Winston-Salem and go to the second exit which is the Highway 115 North Wilkesboro exit. Turn left and follow Highway 115 approximately three miles to Highway 268. Turn left and go two blocks to Fourth Street, turn right, three blocks to E Street. Doreen's CDs for sale at event, "Free Indeed", "Show Me the Way!" New CD Release late summer, Let Your Mercy Reign, and I am singing one or two of those on Sat too. :)
