C-FouRic AciD / Press

"Think of it as “The Night of the Loving Dead.” On Friday, the Boobie Trap Bar, 1417 S.W. 6th, will be the venue for the Zombie Valentine Massacre and Masquerade Ball, where the area’s walking dead will dress to impress and party the night away. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Friday for what the promoter, Melinko Owens of Ninjalo Entertainment and Technology, calls its “biggest night of hip hop and horror under one roof.” The cover charge will be $7 for 18- to 20-year-olds and $5 for those 21 and older. Those attending are encouraged to “come zombified.”"

“C-Fouric Acid bills himself as "rap's No. 1 antagonist," but that description downplays the Kansas City-based lyricist's greatest strengths: a laid-back conversational flow, sci-fi creativity (a kindly doctor gets transformed into a ghastly frame), sharp pop-culture criticism (he's tortured by being forced to watch Dawson's Creek) and chant-along choruses that don't feel contrived. Instead of fabricating beefs with rivals or straw-man sucka MCs, C-Fouric proclaims his intolerance for idiocy, claiming, I attack the dense/Because the world is overpopulated/With stupid people/Whose moms shouldn't have fucked the same time they ovulated. It's refreshing to hear a rugged rapper rip ignorance. The minimalist bass-and-keys beats of producer Tha "E" enhance the scorching sting of Acid's sulfuric flows, letting his words breathe while providing plenty of bump for the trunks. Acid Hitz establishes this twelve-year underground veteran as one of local rap's most riveting talents.”
