Karl-André Tvedt aka. BotaniKa, born in Sogndal in 1979. Started early to dance and dj at local youth clubs. Later in life he evolved an interest for sound.
He joined Kraftetaten (sound/ligth/stage deparment) in the local student orginasation
"Det Akademiske Kvarter" in Bergen. Beeing active on the livé scene all over town for the next years, he started to grow an interest for music creation and the digital medium. He applied for a school that offerd education in sound and music production and have been creating music since.
After a year on the road with various artists and music performances, he decided to take a break from behind the knobs and PA's and focus working on making music. Having a very open view on creation, the future migth give some interesting listening. To some extent this have been a solo projekt so far.. BotaniKa is currently in the progress of working on new material :)

The name BotaniKa is inspired from hours playing on a kaossilator in one of Bergens public gardens. The music is created in Cubase with plugins from UltimateSoundBank and Korg.
Not willing to be on stage with a computer, but have a more artistic approch on livé apperances, have resulted into a combination of sample based workstation in the form of a Electribe esx-1, an kp3 (chaospad) for mixing and effect layering. Also in the setup is the crazy little kaossilator.
Today BotaniKa's focus is in creating new music and evolve the creative prosesses.
