ABOUT THE BARB WIRED BAND BARB VERDILE: (LEAD VOCALS) “THE POWER” – Magnetic and Compelling. You can’t help but be drawn to her. Barb joined the band in 2005. Born, raised and educated in upstate New York, music has played a significant role in Barbs life since she was a young child. Barb and her siblings, Mary and John Jr., share warm memories of sitting by the piano with her uncle, Neale, a professional pianist and instructor at the Troy Conservatory of Music, as he played tunes on the upright piano in the family living room. A desire to perform became much more evident to Barb during her ten years when she fell in love with live theater. She started her career shortly after high school, eventually being enrolled in the esteemed Actors Equity Association as stage manager. Signing on stage for a series of local production soon followed. Barb has always loved to sing, but it wasn’t until recent years that she perused it. Besides signing with The Barb Wired Band, she also sings at weddings, county fairs, various sporting events as well as the Troy, NY Flag Day Parade, and The Green Island Memorial Day Parade for several years now. The Troy Record described Barbs rendition of the anthem as “SOULFUL”. You can Hear Barb on two tracks of the country CD “ANGELS OF HEART”, Available at www.cdbaby.com. Mike Verdile: (Rhythm/Lead Guitar, Vocal), Mike is no stranger to the music scene. His wild onstage antics have gained him notoriety from Rochester to Albany. Mikes local journey started here in the Capital District with various bands Cardiac Arrest, IROC, EUPHORIA, they played the local curcuit for years, it was there he honed his style, with the influenses of some of history’s greatest performers like; Jimi Page, Eddie VanHalen, Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck to name a few. Watch as Him and his guitar become one on stage. Chris Rinaldi (Naldi) Electric Lead and Rhythm Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals. A veteran of the NY /NJ /CT club circuit, Naldi has contributed to several original acts, dozens of classic cover bands, and countless sit-ins, sub-ins, and studio work through the years. Naldi has been an integral part of the Northeast's Jam Band and Original Rock scene as a former member of Scarecrow Collection, Breadbox Band, and the Eric Hill Band. He's also a consistent long time member of veteran party rock band, Freight Train. Naldi's electric lead style, largely in the heavy blues rock tradition of 60's and 70's era Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, is also accentuated by jazzy and country nuances reminiscent of Dickey Betts, Jerry Garcia and Trey Anastasio. Naldi's Gibson Les Paul and Fender Strat deliver a variety of sonic moods from 'In Your Face' crunch to 'Chicken Pickin' twang, to sweet, singing sustain. Greg Becmer: (Bass Guitar) Greg originally studied Classical Piano with a private tutor from High School years through College. Finding it was much too lame for him, he picked up an electric bass guitar and never looked back. His musical voyage began with a very popular rock group "Artimus" that made a good name for themselves in the Capital Region. This band played the local hot spots for several years. He also did a stint with the horn band Stage for one summer before leaving the area for years before returning recently. Upon return, he played with The Zookeepers before joining the awesome percussion section of The Barbed Wire Band. Greg's biggest influence, he feels is the greatest bassist to ever live is Stanley Clarke. Also giants John Entwistle, Chris Squire, Bill Sheehan, Mel Schacher, and Geezer Butler.
