Ask Cliff Jackson Original Songs anything...
Q: http://www.geniusthemovie.com/ is a great documentary about John Lennon. No, we are not part of any 'quiverfull' movement except that lots of our 'arrows' are in our band! (Ps. 127:3-5)
A: I Googled the film, and Ray Comfort's Christianity is not my own. My background is Assemblies of God (Pentecostal), but I am not a creationist or fundamentalist. I embrace evolution but also intelligent design in that I cannot summons the faith to believe that everything "just happened" by coincidence from "nothing" (or as near nothing as one can conceive). Thus, I am not accepted by the dogmatists of either extreme, the religionists or the fundamentalist atheists. I think the mind, reason, enhances faith and is not something to be feared. Ray Comfort is like Ken Ham: each has a money-making scam going gulling the gullible with their anti-science certitudes about the literalness and inerrancy of the Bible (or, to be precise, not really the Bible nor even God but THEIR CONCEPTS, their interpretations that they deny are interpretations, of the Bible and God). Sorry. You were well-intentioned in recommending the movie. Thank you! NO animus toward you at all. Just don't like either the content of Ham's/Comfort's message nor the devious way they deliver the same and reap the financial bonanzas from a Gospel of Greed. Yes, on the surface the movie, from what I have read (not seen personally, although my curiosity is piqued, and I will most likely watch), it is a movie that is about John Lennon, but in actuality it is a misuse of John Lennon to propagate Ray Comfort's views of Christianity in a (misguided?) means of "reaching the lost". I am curious: Why did you share this movie with me? Are you a follower of Ray Comfort?
