“Goody Awards Honors Autistic Teen Animator Dani Bowman, was honored with a Golden Goody Award on Friday, April 20, 2012 at a special Goody Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles, CA. Lauren Owens presented the award to Dani, “You are incredible. She started her animation company (Powerlight Studios) when she was only 11, and that is pretty amazing because to be that young and to start with your dream. And she has been able to talk about anti-bullying….and she wants to show that through her animation with the two books she illustrated talking about differences and accepting people, and I think that is incredible….You are a voice for people everywhere. You are able to show people what accepting others is, and I want to thank you so much.” Lauren was also recently on an anti-bully episode of New Girl that was about a girl teasing a boy because he was overweight. Lauren explained, “I don’t think people understand that it hurts everyone to be bullied.””
