History’s presented us with several great duos such as: Zane* Floetry* Outkast* Salt & Pepa* & The Weather Girls* just to name a few! It doesn’t stop there! Meet Washington, DC based, “Alternative” female fronted band ALorious! A soulful vocalist, a hard hitting lyricist mixed with an infusion of eclectic, superseding content and a universal message. Gives you a sound you haven’t quite heard like this before.
Known in their community for being trend setters with the potential of being a great influence in the Hip hop/soul realm of musical culture. ALorious sets themselves apart from any other type of artists in the industry by not only being uniquely matched with an impeccable chemistry, but also not being afraid to look and sound different.
Throughout 2007-2008, ALorious has performed live for more than 95 shows, Including the TV One Pilot "The Last 1 Standing" hosted by Tommy Ford, a charity benefit concert “Hip Hop for the Homeless”, “The Mental Graffiti Concert Series”, “The Uptown Hip Hip Underground United Concert Series” and the DMV Unity Tour in Nov. 08. Additionally, ALorious was selected to take part in the R&B Princess Ni’Que’s Southwestern tour touching down in Las Vegas in early 2009. ALorious was also asked by the luminary Brother Maniac to join the all-star line up to record the DMV Unity Single "Roll With Us" which was released in Oct. 08’. In addition to their musical craft and live stage shows, ALorious has produced six open mic shows, one local celebrity, All-star birthday bash and recorded 15 tracks for the Kadillak Musik Mix Tape Series. In 2005, ALorious opened up for Bad Boy recording artist, Boy Group B5 at the WPGC back to school Jam. In 2007 they were invited to perform for the "Unsigned Hype Tour" for the Source Magazine. In 2007 they earned a combined 9 nominations and won best R&B recording for the 2007 DMV Entertainment and Music Awards. In 2008, ALorious also featured in the double cover music issue of Sexy DC Magazine. This year ALorious earned nominations for Best Group and Best Alternative Artist for the 1st Annual Velocity Magazine Awards 2008.
ALorious has recorded collaborations with over 20 local artists including: Da Committee (DC Clap), Shy Thoro (Baby Boy), Tokes Eastwood and R&B/Soul Sensation Lyrik. They have also written songs for Teddy Bear Records, national recording artist “Lady Day”. They’ve worked with producers such as JT of Time 2 Jamm, who’s produced for artists such as Mya and Tonya Blunt. Big Wyllz (Junk Yard Band and Da Mixx Band) of Kadillak Musik, Dirty District, Tone of Collabo, Ent,Reina Williams whose done production work for television and screen and other local production gurus.

THE LADIES
ALuv aka DeFaZiO is vastly becoming an on demand item. The DC-breed hip-hop/soul chanteuse is a strong sister. As a teen, Aluv traveled internationally as a member of the MMS concert choir forming a passion for all genres of music. While also doing theatrical performances during her summer vacations she used her experience and talent as a catalyst for her music career. ALuv teamed up with Victorious local DC Poetess/Spoken word artists and began introducing herself to the DC underground scene. In 06 she took on the Wednesday Open Mic at Phish Tea Café and began to move deeper in to the independent artists sector. Later teaming up with GEM IN I bringing you the new sound of ALorious. As a soulful songwriter/songstress and lyricists you’ll feel the depth of her passion in all their music. The caliber of her work is truly impressive. Collaboration credits go to Victorious, Tokes Eastwood, Lyrik, Rob Lo and Yventz.
GEM IN I DC’s Premier Diva’s of R&B/Soul. Is known for her sultry vocals and entertaining talent. Gem In I hosted the comedy & Spoken Word showcases at the world renowned Takoma Station Tavern & The Hip Hop show “Entourage Wednesdays”. In addition to her contribution to ALorious she is also a vocalist for Go Go Band 360. She’s done vocals for local icon bands such as Familiar Faces, ASAP Go Go Band and The Firm Project. She has also done background vocals for local artists Lyrik and Shorty Corleon. She’s done collaborations with local artists Benji of Illgut. As well as commercial drops and special guest appearances for entertainment companies. Her talent has earned her many accolades. She is an avid aspiring vocalist, artist, songwriter, composer and poet. Gem In I is rapidly becoming a social butterfly and anyone who knows anything about her or has had the opportunity to connect with her find her to be as warm and inviting has her talent.
