Britt Arnesen / Press

“The simple setup captured the intimacy and quality of the guitar – on the instrumental “L’Aubergine” you can hear the wood creak and groan. Arnesen purposefully left the audio as raw as possible.”

"Missoula trio The Acousticals recently released their new self-titled effort – a mix of homemade tunes in the country-folk-bluegrass realm from band members Richie Reinholdt, Britt Arnesen and Chad Fadely. If their names sound familiar, it’s because the three are omnipresent on the Missoula music scene, and because they all play in other bands. Bassist/vocalist Britt Arnesen plays in Britchy with guitarist-vocalist Reinholdt, and she also plays bass in Pinegrass, a bluegrass group. Reinholdt plays with mandolinist Chad Fadely in the bluegrass ensemble Lochwood, too. So they get lots of playing time, and it shows in this recording of an unedited live session. After listening to it, you’ll find there is no need for editing."

"...signature tight-knit harmonies."

“Britt Arnesen, a.k.a. 907Britt, plays upbeat acoustic folk music with an organic passion. She primarily identifies as a songwriter and recently released her second solo LP, “Middle of the Rainbow,” which she wrote almost entirely last winter while living on a farm outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. ...Arnesen has since relocated to Missoula, where she lives with her eight-year-old son and plays music with local legend Richie Reinholdt in a duo they call “Britchy.””

““…the album is complete traditional pop- folk lyrical storytelling at its finest…The 13 track album is like a bluegrass folk musical journal that has been written in by people all telling stories of passionate moments, sad moments, happy moments or just any moment they have remembered forever…a well written all-around musical treat. Middle of the Rainbow is an album for all ages that can be truly enjoyed sitting down and relaxing, and for being created in Missoula, MT I find it perfectly fitting and representing. The Middle of the Rainbow has never seemed safer yet still adventurous with a hidden pot of gold. Well done 907Britt, well done.””

““Alaska-grown Britt Arnesen (907 is Alaska’s area code) sings with a sweetness that’s most striking when it’s balanced by local bluegrass legend Richie Reinholdt’s deep harmonies. And she plays guitar with gusto.””

““Continental Divide” features 12 original tracks examining — with humor, sadness or wry insight — life, love, family and travel. Arnesen effortlessly mixes elements of folk, country and bluegrass for a solid album of well-constructed catchy numbers.”

“…my first real exposure to current Alaskan tunage. Dig.The sound is folk-pop and acoustic, a perfect way to showcase the album’s strong suit, which is Arnesen’s finely crafted lyrics. Arnesen’s singing voice is pleasant, reminiscent of Kasey Chambers…never stretched, always in tune. Very enjoyable across the entire span of the record. Her often conversational style of writing comes off as fresh…a celebration of life. No matter what happens, life is always worth living, and not just that, but worth living joyfully. That’s a message we all need to hear from time to time.”

"I recently listened to an amazing Alaska singer, Britt Arnesen (907britt.com). She’s from Alaska and in many way embodies those great qualities of my home state...I think we’re all getting a chance to discover Britt Arnesen before she makes it big."

"Working with Britt was a real treat."

"The CD contains original material from the past 11 years, showcasing the Alaska acoustic folk musician's maturation as a songwriter, and was created in her own portable studio."

"Her vocals and various instrumental elements make for a cheery sound that compliments both her serious and lighthearted lyrics."

"It's like you absorb the rhythm of the earth and radiate it back in double measure!"

“Playful yet insightful lyrics. You have a voice and a way of phrasing your words that is fresh and alive, like the sound of a stream in the woods, water trickling over stones.”

"Beautiful and emotive."

"...an amazingly talented singer and songwriter..."

"Sure was fun to play with Britt on Saturday night! Her new album is selling well & if you heard her this past weekend, you know why!"

"Working with Britt was a real treat!"

"Though the song's subject matter is dark, its melodies are bright. Arnesen's vocals are layered to create rich harmonies, and piano solos by collaborator Brian Hazard add a hopeful sense to the piece."

"Britt Arnesen of Anchorage, Alaska, posted last month that she thought she had something stuck in her ear, "like a piece of Q-Tip fuzz," and needed someone to wash it out "with a syringe and lukewarm salt water." "

"The musical equivalent of a vanilla latte."

Alaska Folk Festival

"Off the Cuff (Britt's improv troupe) was better than ANY improv group I've seen, on TV or anywhere else...they were all 100% invested."
