“800lb Gorilla perform a variety of "cow-punk/rebel-rock" music that will keep you moving, no matter if you dance or not. The band was formed in 2007 by bass player Les Webb, the only bass player I've ever seen to throw a stand up bass behind his head and slap it like it owes him money. Lead guitar player Jeff Spina brings more energy to the stage than King Kong on cocaine. Drummer Brian Calvillo keeps the beat at a mind splitting pace, while front man Simon Faughn sings a combination of covers and originals that makes you wonder why you haven't heard this band before; and why don't the have a CD available yet? With outstanding renditions of well known songs from "Fishnet Stockings", to a punk version of Johnny Cash's "25 Minutes to Go," you can't help but love this group.”
