Have you ever wondered what organic roots rock sounds like? Well, Three Legged Fox is your answer. Hailing from the Philadelphia area, Three Legged Fox plays original roots rock and reggae music characterized by inspirational lyrics, melodic vocals, a tight rhythmic pocket, and well-crafted guitar lines, blended together in a rock-based, pop songwriting style.
Three Legged Fox formed in April of 2006 on the campus of the University of Delaware. After winning UD’s Battle of the Bands, the band decided to pursue the original music scene in and around Philadelphia. Word spread and Three Legged Fox quickly developed a solid and loyal following. Meanwhile, they recorded their debut album entitled “Ideas” which released in December 2006 and has received airplay on over 170 college radio stations nationwide. In 2007, Three Legged Fox performed over 60 shows, branching out to Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, New York, Ohio and Massachusetts.
Three Legged Fox has shared the stage with numerous national recording artists such as Dub Is A Weapon, Jeffrey Gaines, Soldiers of Jah Army (SOJA), Passafire, Jah Roots, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, and Ballyhoo. They performed live for the second time on one of Philadelphia's largest alternative radio stations, Radio 104.5, in November and continue to receive support and airplay from the station. 3LF is about to finish production on their sophomore album at the Philadelphonic Studio with engineer/producer Chris DiBeneditto (G. Love, Slightly Stoopid, The Expendables). Guest appearances include members of SOJA and John Brown's Body, OG from Slightly Stoopid, and Mark Boyce from G. Love & Special Sauce. The new album is tentatively scheduled for release in February of 2009.
