About
Ex Norwegian participated in the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City mere months after their formation, and released two singles: the irresistible Shins-styled folk-pop “Something Unreal” and “Dance Trance Pants” on a 7" which falls neatly somewhere in between The Killers and 70s glam epitomized by bands like T. Rex. The enthusiastic response to these singles was accompanied by numerous live performances on the East Coast, heavy rotation on college radio as well as television appearances on European TV network Sky News, NBC and university stations.
The group's youthful energy and sound has won them critics praise and is described as an "...eclectic mix of powerpop, shoegaze, indie rock, and even hints of stoner rock" by Exploding In Sound. Ex Norwegian was also singled out as "...the next big indie thing," by Revue West Michigan.
The debut album, Standby, was released nationally on May 19th on the Dying Van Gogh label. The band and album has attracted a lot of attention and support from the press, with exposure in Boston Globe, Miami Herald, and dozens of blogs and publications. They continue to build their audience through touring, the Internets and making great music.
The band consists of Roger Houdaille (vocals and guitar), Carolina Souto (bass guitar and vocals), Arturo Garcia (drums and vocals).
