Bio

The 24th Peak Project began in 2006 when bassist Adrian Alexander knocked on the door of guitar/banjo player Jeremy Reffel while organizing for Environmental Action. Discovering a shared love of classic Americana, bluegrass, jazz, and rock, as well as a desire to make their mark on the modern music scene, the two made plans to collaborate. Shortly thereafter, Jeremy introduced Adrian to guitarist Burl Kramer, who Jeremy had been performing with under the humble moniker Those Guys. Kramer added a lighthearted, dance in the streets kind of vibe that perfectly balanced Reffel's bluesy style and Alexander's dark lyrics and aggressive bass journeys. When the three came together, there was an instant connection, and they began a songwriting relationship that was beyond any collaboration the boys had previously experienced. Drummers came and went, the band performed a few initial shows, but nothing ever seemed quite right. A breakthrough happened when, once again knocking door to door for the environment, Adrian met mandolin player Richard Fiorillo. With the addition of Richard's keen ear, steady rhythm and melodic soloing the boys were able to take the music in both a more traditional direction, as well as allowing for more adventurous improvisational excursions. With this lineup the band was able to launch their most successful summer run ever, 2008, playing over 30 shows around Colorado and building a loyal fanbase. At the end of the summer, the final piece finally fell in place with the addition of drummer Chris Laurence. Chris' ability to lock into a groove and support the bottom while simultaneously remaining ready to turn on a dime was what the band had been searching for since the beginning. Now, the only thing above the Peak is the endless sky.
