Bio

Don’t let the day jobs fool you, these four guys live to play music. 13th Floor is an original alternative rock band located in the lower east side of Manhattan comprised of John Stampolis (vocals, guitar), Steven Cimino (lead guitar), John-Paul Baker (drums) and Loren Pratt (bass guitar, backing vocals). If asked to describe their sound you may get the response “We are the unwanted love child of Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains”. Though they are influenced by a wide range of artists their most common influences are Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Jimi Hendrix.

About

Their debut EP, released in December 2008, was recorded and produced at NYC’s Skyline Studios by Grammy winner Ron Allaire (Pantera, Keith Richards) and Jonathan Mover (Fuel, Everlast, Shakira). 13th Floor has played renowned NYC venues such as CBGBs, Highline Ballroom, Crash Mansion, Mercury Lounge and just completed a five week residency at Arlenes Grocery in March 2009.

In February 2009, 13th Floor was editors pick on Indie-Music.com where, as per Mike Cameo of Indies Top 10, they’ve been dominating the hard rock charts since. Mike Cameo has featured four of the five songs off their debut EP on his show Indies Top 10; “Illusions” in March 2009, “Moeshin” in April 2009, “Yesterday” in May 2009 and “Lady of Disgrace” in July 2009. Their song “Breakin’ Down” was played on Q104.3 by Jonathan Clarke on his April 5th show Out of the Box. In June 2009, “Breakin’ Down” was also chosen as part of a pilot program for sponsored songs by Reverbnation and the inaugural brand partner, Microsoft.
